Manaslu circuit trek is located in the Gorkha district towards North West of Kathmandu valley. This trekking takes you around the Mt. Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain of the world which is also known as the Killer Mountain. Manaslu circuit trek is the challenging trek which provides the rich bio diversity, culture and lifestyle of the rural people of the rural people of Nepal as well as the superb mountain vistas. This trekking region is mostly inhabited by the 3 ethnic Magar, Gurung, Tamang, and Chhetri, Brahmin community in the lower region and Tibetan Bhotias people whose culture and religion is similar to the Tibetan people in the upper region.
In this circuit trek you can enjoy the close up view of the Mt. Manaslu (8156m.)- the 8th highest mountain of the world as well as other mountains like Ganesh Himal, Hiunchuli, Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, Langtang range, Annapurna range and Tibetan mountains etc. during the Manaslu circuit trek you cross the high pass like Larkya La pass. The challenging and adventurous Manaslu circuit trek begins with the drive from Kathmandu to Aarughat bazaar. From Aarughat you follow the Budhi Gandaki river valley and passes through the subtropical forest in the Middle hill land to alpine meadows and the high desert land, ethnic villages, and emerald terraced farm with the views of the river valley, mountain vistas, waterfalls as well as the natural scenery.
In the lower part of the Manaslu circuit trekking region is inhabited by the Gurung, Magar, Tamang etc whereas the upper part is inhabited by the Tibetan people. From the Tibetan village you reach the Samagaun and head to Larkya La pass and enter the Marsyangdi river valley and descend down to Bhimtang before joining the Annapurna circuit trekking trail. This circuit ends at Besisahar of Lamjung District. The Upper part of the Manaslu region is controlled trekking region and the trekkers require the special permit from the government of Nepal. The best season to go for the Manaslu circuit trek is from March to May and August to November.
